HIV research highlighted during State of the University address

President Michael A. Fitts visited the Tulane National Biomedical Research Center in Covington and delivered his State of the University address, citing Amir Ardeshir's finding that a single shot at birth could offer years of protection against HIV.

The address also reported roughly $35 million in annual NIH funding to the center and a recent $4 million facilities award.
